If you’ve been wondering what’s happening at Alhovuori these days, Saturday, September from 3 pm to 12 pm is the perfect time to come and experience it for yourself.

The old Alhovuori ski resort is getting a new lease on life after being bought at auction and brought into community ownership. Little by little, we’re clearing and reviving the place together – not to make it “finished”, but to make it alive. Tules is the first open invitation to step into this story.

Come spend an autumn weekend surrounded by forest, lake, hillside and fellow humans. Hike, enjoy the sauna, listen to music, join a workshop, or simply be. You’re welcome to come as an audience member, but even more than that, we hope everyone will feel encouraged to become part of what happens here.

The theme is "ruska", the spectacular colours and atmosphere of the Finnish autumn: Alhovuori’s forest and natural phenomena, enhanced with sensory additions. We’ll be at the mercy of the weather, from the unpredictability of the afternoon to the darkness of the night, so the experience will take shape with the conditions, becoming exactly what it is meant to be.

What is Tules?

Tules is a collaboratively created, family-friendly light and sound event. At its heart are nature, site-specific DIY art, music, dance, encounters, saunas and making things together. Here, participation matters more than consumption, and the event is created through the collaboration of the community, volunteers and everyone who takes part.

Becomings is a symposium, a meeting place, and an experimental space for people who want to build something new. It brings together projects, dreams, research, art, and their creators — creating a space for unfinished ideas to become visible, to find allies, and to see what can emerge when diverse creators meet.

Becomings builds upon the foundation of the Mustionkatu Symposium of Transformation (MUST), held in Turku in 2024. In September 2026, the concept takes its next step as a one-day pilot event within the Tules event Alhonvuori. We begin with a joint gathering and a discussion about Alhonvuori—exploring what is emerging from this former ski center and the possibilities the site might offer in the future. Throughout the afternoon and early evening, the stage and the space open up to various projects and dreams. The Aukeamaa -project is already involved, and it is currently seeking additional projects, experiments, research, and wild ideas to be part of the event.

Workshops, performances, art, and other participatory and unexpected programming will unfold throughout the day. As the evening progresses, the conversation quietens, and the symposium gradually transforms into a celebration where music and togetherness take center stage.
